As Australia continues to pick up pace along the road to recovery from COVID-19, it is very encouraging to see a positive momentum emerging in meetings, conferences and events. Our enquiries for event management services have definitely started to pick up and, after the ‘drought’ of face-to-face events in 2020, this is very pleasing to see indeed.
Amidst further easing of restrictions in NSW and the continued rollout of the vaccine program nationally, last week we were delighted to host our first ‘in-person’ event for 2021. The 2021 Fertility and Pregnancy Healthcare Symposium was a sell out event which took place in The Watermans Room at 12-Micron in Barangaroo. Located within easy walking distance of Wynyard Train Station, 12-Micron was an ideal location for an educational lunch Symposium.
12-Micron is an events and functions space located in the heart of Sydney’s newest business precinct and leisure playground, Barangaroo. The venue has light-filled spaces, stylish finishes and sublime views over the western side of Sydney Harbour.
The Watermans Room is located at the northern end of the venue and features a complete glass frontage, a private balcony with breathtaking views of Sydney’s Harbour, a spacious interior and a relaxed yet sophisticated aesthetic. The room’s capacities for an event are: 200 people for a sit down lunch or dinner; 300 people for stand-up cocktails; and 220 people with theatre style seating.
The speakers and delegates at the 2021 Fertility and Pregnancy Healthcare Symposium were clearly delighted to be back ‘in the meeting room’. The overwhelming feedback from our clients over the past 12 months has been the challenge of being able to effectively network with colleagues and peers online during a virtual event. For this reason, clients are eager to facilitate in-person networking at their conferences and events again.
Let’s hope that the Australian Events Industry continues down the Road to Recovery. We anticipate that 2021 is likely to be a ‘mixed bag’ of in-person, hybrid and fully virtual events as confidence continues to grow.
