Adelaide Convention Centre
Situated on the banks of the River Torrens is the Adelaide Convention Centre. The Centre provides a myriad of flexible event spaces ranging in size from a boardroom for ten people to the Centre’s main plenary room holding 3,500 people in full convention mode.
Having recently hosted an Annual Scientific Meeting at the Centre, we can attest to the fact that the Centre’s central location allows attendees to easily walk to and from their accommodation ‘next door or just across the road’.
The Centre’s on-site audiovisual services, reasonably priced built-in technology, and attentive technical managers and technicians streamlined our event production and delivery.
Their new “Honest Goodness” catering menu was simply delicious, encompassing a substantial percentage of local produce from across South Australia.
Their event services staff were friendly, supportive, responsive, and proactive.
Following a day-time conference, you also have the option of holding an evening event at the Centre overlooking the stunning River Torrens by night. Alternatively, there is a wide range of event venues, dining options, and entertainment locations also within easy walking distance, or a short tram or taxi ride away such as the Adelaide Oval, the Adelaide Zoo, the Botanical Gardens or the National Wine Centre.
Madame Hanoi
We have been to Adelaide on many occasions, and had heard of, but only just experienced this modern, elegant, authentic restaurant. Also located very centrally on North Terrace and just a short walk from the Adelaide Convention Centre, in the SkyCity precinct, Madame Hanoi brings the energy and vibrant flavours of modern South-East Asian cuisine to the heart of Adelaide’s CBD.
Open for dinner from Tuesday to Saturday, the menu features authentic, fresh dishes, using local produce, and has an extensive selection of beverages, making it ideal for both corporate entertaining and casual dining.
Madame Hanoi has an elegant private dining room perfect for business dinners, networking events, and private functions.
Home Ground Café
Just downstairs from the Adelaide Convention Centre is the Home Ground Café. Open from 8am to 3pm, we found it convenient for delegates to continue networking over coffee; enjoy a meal between conference sessions with breakfast, lunch and snacks available; have a business meeting; grab a quality barista coffee; or just take some timeout to look at the River Torrens and surrounds. The Café has a welcoming and relaxed atmosphere.
Pre and Post Touring or Partner Programs
For delegates wanting to arrive a little earlier, or stay a little later, South Australia has outstanding wine and food destinations a short coach trip away from Adelaide City, including the Barossa Valley, McLaren Vale, and the Adelaide Hills. Alternatively, hop on the Glenelg Tram for an easy beach escape to Glenelg.
If your delegates can stay a few more days, they can take a multi-day trip to Kangaroo Island, the Flinders Ranges, or the wild Eyre Peninsula. These unique South Australian experiences create lasting memories for your delegates.
